讲座内容：

1. Thetalk will first provide an overview on the current status of physical activityin China, especially in light of the 3 decades of economic reforms that havebrought significant changes in population demographics, urbanization,motorization, lifestyle, and prevalence of disease. The second half of the talkwill focus primarily on understanding critical issues facing the populations interms of health and physical activity epidemiology, proposing research needs,strategies, and initiatives aimed at narrowing gaps in the field of physicalactivity epidemiology.

2. Thistalk is intended to provide students and/or faculty members from a variety ofdisciplines a broad introduction to physical activity epidemiology and how itaffects public health. The talk will highlight the literature related to thehistory and impact of physical activity on chronic disease, and providestudents and/or faculties the opportunity to understand epidemiology concepts,methods, and applications related to physical activity research and furtherdevelop research skills by reading and analyzing empirical studies thatdescribe and explain the effects of physical activity on chronic diseases.

3. The seminar is designed toprovide an introduction to essential issues involved in structuring, writing,and publishing research papers in the field of exercise science

4. Thisseminar focuses on how to summarize, analyze, and evaluate an empiricalresearch paper.

5. Providean overall review of Parkinson’s disease, its prevalence and incidence,etiology and pathology, clinical characteristics, treatment options involvingpharmacological, medical, and exercise therapies.

6. Introducing and exploreseveral wireless-based motion sensors (products made by BioStamp, BioSensics,Hexoskin) for measuring kinematic movements and electrical activity of heart

李甫中高级研究员简介：FuzhongLi, Ph.D., is a senior scientist at the Oregon Research Institute in Eugene,Oregon. His substantive research areas include physical activity epidemiology,postural control, and cognition in older adults and people with neurologicaldisorders. Dr. Li has a brief history working and collaborating with studentsand faculty members at the Shanghai University of Sport in the area of physicalactivity research involving older adults and people with chronic diseaseconditions.
